“The concept of freedom is one that’s universally positive and timeless, and whatever each person’s version of that freedom is, it’s a good thing to be reminding people or even just ourselves to be ‘free.’”

This month’s installment of the Creese Cheam Mixtapes series offers fresh tracks that look like they could have been stamped in the dirt only a few hours ago. New(couple old) music from some of my favorites that accompany the changing of the leaves with colours and layers so satisfying it warms the crisp air. Enjoy these new tunes and please take the time to explore these artists albums in full. In a day where a hit single seems to be the only thing taken from the whole it is a shame not to spend time listening to these folks art in it’s entirety.

Awwhhh!!!!!!!! New Russian Circles is coming!! It’s powerful. It’s sharp and hard hitting. The tracks stand more on their own than as a whole. Still beautiful, still stunning. Have a taste.

Midlake have shared the title track off the forthcoming release, Antiphon, out 11/5 via Bella Union/ATO. Powering on without their lead singer Tim Smith who left last November to start a new project titled “Harp”, the band leaves me waiting curiously pondering what will come of Midlake’s sound. The new track below titled “Antiphon” reassures me that they have not taken a step back, but rather a step forward.
The group reigns from LA and recently started working with Jay-Z’s management group Roc Nation. Their music makes you want to bounce your shoulders back and forth and make you wish you had a funky 80’s doo. They’ve been compared to Fleetwood Mac and I’m comparing them to Kate Bush. Their album “Days Are Gone” was just released on Tuesday and it a has very complete and whole sound. These sisters came together to with big dreams and I think they might actually formulate in this record. Here is a standout track from this album, maybe they can take you back a bit….
